TP316L Stainless steel welded pipe

TP316L Stainless steel welded pipe is a kind of austenitic stainless steel material, it belongs to the 316 series, in which the "L" represents the low carbon (Low Carbon). This material is particularly suitable for use in situations where welding is required because of its excellent welding properties and corrosion resistance. TP316L Stainless steel welded pipe is widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, food processing, pharmaceutical, paper making, Marine engineering and other industries.

TP316L Features of stainless steel welded pipe

Low carbon content: Low carbon content makes TP316L stainless steel welded pipe in the welding process is not easy to produce carbide precipitation, thus reducing the risk of intercrystalline corrosion.
Corrosion resistance: contains molybdenum and nickel, which enables TP316L stainless steel welded pipe to show excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of corrosive environments, including spot corrosion resistance and gap corrosion resistance.
Welding performance: Due to its low carbon content and good chemical composition, TP316L stainless steel welded pipe is easy to weld, and it can still maintain good corrosion resistance after welding.
High temperature performance: at high temperature, TP316L stainless steel welded pipe can still maintain good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

    Production Engineering:

    Raw material preparation

Use TP316L stainless steel sheet or strip conforming to ASTM A249 or ASTM A312 standard as raw material.

    Shear and edge preparation

Sile plates or strips to appropriate sizes and process edges to ensure accurate docking during welding.

    Roll

The cut plate or strip roll into a tube.

    Welding

weld the edges of the pipe using welding techniques such as TIG (tungsten pole argon arc welding) or MIG (metal inert gas protection welding).

    Heat treatment

After the welding is completed, the welded pipe is fixed by heat treatment to restore the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of the material.

    Straighten and cut

Straighten and cut the welded pipe to achieve the desired size and shape.

    NDT

Conduct nondestructive testing such as ultrasonic testing or radiographic testing to ensure that the welded pipe is free of defects.

    Surface treatment

Surface-treat the welded pipes, such as pickling, passivation or polishing, to improve their corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

    Inspection and testing

Final inspection and testing of welded pipes, including dimensional inspection, pressure test and chemical composition analysis.

    Packaging and transportation

Qualified welded pipes are properly packed and ready for shipment.
Throughout the production process, manufacturers need to strictly comply with the relevant international and domestic standards to ensure product quality. TP316L Stainless steel welded pipes are widely used in many industrial fields because of their excellent performance.
